Attending Bridal shows is a fantastic way to see a lot of vendors in a short amount of time. Although this book provides you with a lot of information, it does not replace being able to see, touch, and experience the art that many vendors bring to the show.
A FEW TIPS TO REMEMBER:
Bring a check list: If you are halfway though the planning process and are going to the show to find those last few services, bring a check list. This provides a quick reference to who exactly you are looking for. Leave space for you to write in your favorites in that specific category.
Bring mailing labels: There are several contests to enter throughout the show. Having these labels saves time filling out contest slips. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, email, and wedding date.
Map your course: You are the reason each of these vendors are in the show. They want to talk to you as much as you want to talk to them. At times booths can become very crowded. Consider skipping 'the busy' booth and making your way back to it once the rush has gone through. Be sure you mark that you want to come back on your floor plan map - you don't want to forget to return to the booth that so many others found interesting!
One-on-one: If there is a particular vendor that you want to speak with one-onone, consider skipping the first fashion show. Most brides are in the audience of the fashion show. This gives you an excellent opportunity to have a vendor's undivided attention. You can always attend the second fashion show!
Bring color swatches: It is valuable to have color swatches that you have chosen to incorporate into your wedding. Providing this piece can help the vendor visualize how you want the color scheme of your event to look. If you can't find the perfect fabric, try your local hardware store - paint cards can serve the same purpose.
Wear comfortable shoes: You could be at the show for several hours. Having comfortable shoes will make spending that time bearable!
Be ready to buy: Many bridal boutiques will have gowns available for purchase at discounted rates. Plan on spending enough time at a show to be able to try on gowns. |
